Delhi · Haridwar · Barkot · Yamunotri · Uttarkashi · Gangotri · Rudraprayag · Kedarnath · Guptakashi · Badrinath · Joshimath · Rishikesh
Uttarakhand is steeped in ancient history and mythology, and the Char Dham — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath — is the definitive Hindu pilgrimage through it. This is a physically demanding tour: two of the shrines involve a genuine trek on foot, horse or palanquin, at altitude, so pack accordingly. This is a flexible plan — dates and stops can be adjusted to suit you.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
1
Delhi to Barkot
On arrival at Delhi airport or railway station, our driver meets you and transfers you onward. The drive continues through Dehradun and Mussoorie, with a stop at Kempty Falls, before reaching Barkot. Check in to your hotel on arrival. Overnight in Barkot.
2
Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (36km drive, 7km trek each way)
Drive to Hanuman Chatti, then take a local jeep on to Janki Chatti — this shortens the trek to around 7km. From there, trek to Yamunotri on foot, by horse or by doli (palanquin), at your own cost. The water at the Yamunotri kund is naturally hot enough to cook rice, which pilgrims carry home as prasad. After darshan at the temple and a dip in the warm water, trek back to Hanuman Chatti and drive back to Barkot. Overnight in Barkot.
3
Barkot to Uttarkashi (174km / ~7 hrs)
Drive to Uttarkashi, one of the most scenic valleys in the region, stopping at Gangnani for a dip in its hot water spring. Dinner and overnight stay at Uttarkashi.
4
Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (~110km round trip)
Drive to Gangotri, where the Ganga is known by its origin name, Bhagirathi. Take a holy dip, perform puja, and enjoy the surroundings. Stop at Harsil for lunch on the way back, then continue to Uttarkashi for dinner and overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, a long drive on to Rudraprayag. Settle into your hotel on arrival and spend the rest of the time at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Rudraprayag.
6
Rudraprayag to Kedarnath (75km by road, 14km trek)
Drive to Gaurikund for a holy dip at Taptakund, then begin the 14km trek to Kedarnath on foot or by pony/doli — carry personal medicines, warm woollens, toiletries and clothes for the overnight stay. Arrive in the evening for darshan, aarti and puja at Kedarnath Temple. Dinner and overnight stay at Kedarnath. Helicopter tickets to Kedarnath are also available with advance booking, for those who'd rather skip the trek.
7
Kedarnath to Guptakashi
After breakfast at Kedarnath, begin the journey back down, stopping at Taptakund before continuing to Guptakashi. Dinner and overnight stay at Guptakashi.
8
Guptakashi to Badrinath (165km / ~7 hrs)
Drive to Badrinath. On arrival, take darshan at the temple and spend time visiting Mana Village nearby. Dinner and overnight stay at Badrinath.
