Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi
On arrival at Delhi airport or railway station, our representative meets you and transfers you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Delhi
Take a morning tour of Old Delhi: the Red Fort, an Old Delhi rickshaw ride, Gandhi Smriti, India Gate, the President's Palace, Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar and Laxmi Narayan Temple. You can also visit Chandni Chowk and the spice market. Overnight stay in New Delhi.

Day 3: Drive to Agra and Agra Sightseeing
Drive to Agra in the morning. In the afternoon, explore Agra Fort with its battlements, gardens and audience halls. The day ends at the magnificent Taj Mahal, where you watch the warm glow as the sun sets over the monument. Overnight stay in Agra.

Day 4: Fatehpur Sikri and Drive to Jaipur
On the way to the Pink City, stop at Fatehpur Sikri, a fascinating 16th-century ghost city 37 km from Agra, founded by the Mughal emperor Akbar. Arrive in Jaipur in the late evening. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 5: Full-Day Jaipur City Tour
Visit Amber Fort, built in the 16th century, with an elephant ride at Amber. Drive past the Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds. In the afternoon, visit the City Palace and museum and the adjacent Jantar Mantar observatory. Jaipur is also famous for shopping: lac work, meenakari, metal and marble work, paintings, leather, gemstones, carpets, woodwork and jewellery. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 6: Drive to Jodhpur and Sightseeing
Drive to Jodhpur to visit the mighty Mehrangarh Fort and the graceful marble cenotaph of Jaswant Thada. At the heart of the Old City stands the Clock Tower, still working, and next to it the Sadar Market, a chaotic, colourful bazaar selling handicrafts, spices, saris and fabric. Overnight stay in Jodhpur.

Day 7: Jodhpur to Udaipur via Ranakpur
Drive to Udaipur, stopping to admire the beautifully sculpted 15th-century Jain temples of Ranakpur. Break for lunch at Maharani Bagh, a mango grove and private garden owned by the Maharaja of Jodhpur. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day 8: Udaipur Sightseeing
Explore the City of Lakes on a guided tour of the City Palace, Saheliyon ki Bari garden and the folklore museum, where you can watch a traditional string-puppet show. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day 9: Udaipur to Mumbai or Delhi
Travel on to Mumbai or back to Delhi, as you prefer. In Mumbai, India's most cosmopolitan city, a city tour takes in the Gateway of India, the Hanging Gardens and Malabar Hill, the Prince of Wales Museum, Dhobi Ghat, Marine Drive, the Gandhi Memorial Museum and a Jain temple. You are then transferred to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
