A morning tour of Old and New Delhi: Red Fort, a rickshaw ride through Old Delhi's lanes, Gandhi Smriti, India Gate, the Presidential Palace, Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar and the Lakshmi Narayan Temple. Optional stop at Chandni Chowk's spice market. Overnight in Delhi.

Delhi to Mandawa
Drive to Mandawa, a fort town in the Shekhawati region known for its heritage havelis and fresco art. Afternoon sightseeing includes Mandawa Castle, once an important station on the old silk route and now a heritage hotel. Overnight in Mandawa.

Mandawa to Bikaner
Drive to Bikaner. A leisurely visit covers the major attractions: Lalgarh Palace, Junagarh Fort, the Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum, the Bhandasar Jain Temple, Gajner Palace, the Shiv Bari Temple, and the Harappan-era site at Kalibangan. Overnight in Bikaner.

Bikaner to Jaisalmer
Drive to Jaisalmer. Morning sightseeing covers the 12th-century Jaisalmer Fort, Gadisar Lake, Nathmal-ki-Haveli, Patwon-ki-Haveli, Salim Singh-ki-Haveli and a Jain temple; in the afternoon, an excursion to the sand dunes for a camel safari. Overnight in Jaisalmer.

Jaisalmer to Jodhpur
Drive to Jodhpur. Sightseeing includes the Umaid Bhawan Palace and Girdikot with its Sardar Market, known for its handicrafts. Overnight in Jodhpur.

Drive to Udaipur, stopping en route at the Ranakpur temples — among the most extensive Jain temple complexes in India, covering around 40,000 square feet, roughly 90km from Udaipur. Check in to your hotel on arrival. Overnight in Udaipur.

Udaipur Sightseeing & Transfer to Pushkar
A city tour of Udaipur: Lake Pichola, the largest and most beautiful of the city's lakes; the City Palace on its banks; the island palaces of Jag Mandir and Jag Niwas; the Jagdish Temple; Saheliyon ki Bari; Gulab Bagh; and the 18th-century Sajjangarh, the Monsoon Palace. Later, drive on to Pushkar. Overnight in Pushkar.

Pushkar to Jaipur
Sightseeing in the holy town of Pushkar, a good window into a range of religious traditions and rituals practised in India, with temples including the Brahma Temple, Rangji Temple and Savitri Temple, and the ghats of Pushkar Lake. Drive on to Jaipur (about 125km). Overnight in Jaipur.

A sightseeing tour of Jaipur's havelis, temples and gardens, with the architecture of Amber Fort, the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal, and time to shop for local handicrafts. Overnight in Jaipur.

About a three-and-a-half-hour drive to Ranthambhore, followed by an afternoon jeep safari in Ranthambhore National Park. Overnight in Ranthambhore.

Ranthambhore Wildlife Safari
Morning and afternoon jeep safaris to view wildlife. Ranthambhore National Park covers around 392 sq km and is home to tigers, sambar, chital, wild boar, leopard, sloth bear and jackal. Overnight in Ranthambhore.

Ranthambhore to Agra, via Bharatpur
Drive to Agra, stopping at Bharatpur on the way. In Agra, sightseeing covers the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Jehangir Mahal, Diwan-i-Khas, Diwan-i-Am and Moti Masjid, along with a look at Agra's traditional marble inlay work and handicrafts. Overnight in Agra.
